VBS/Day Camp FAQs
How much does it cost?
The registration fee for VBS is $60 ($50 for each additional child from the same family). Registration fee for Day Camp is $120 ($110 for each additional child from the same family).
What are the ages for students on campus?
All children must be at least 4 years old and potty trained. The oldest campers are entering 6th grade in the fall.
What if I have a child who is younger than 4?
Volunteers with children under 4 are invited to use our childcare where the kids have a week of fun with our paid nursery staff. If you have questions, please contact Becky at children@hslckirkland.org.
What if my child is older?
We have 7th – 12th graders volunteer with the program. However, volunteer applications are now closed.
What are the hours?
VBS students (PreK – 3rd graders) will be on campus from 9:00 – 12:00 noon. Day Camp students (4th-6th graders) will be on campus from 9:00am – 3:30pm.
Will there be a group picture?
The group picture will take place Tuesday morning during the opening.
What are your drop-off procedures?
All drivers will drop their child off each morning wearing their VBS & Day Camp shirt. This allows us to know who is in camp with us.
Will my child eat while on campus?
Each child will receive a daily snack as part of their time here. The Day Camp 4th, 5th, and 6th graders have lunch and an afternoon snack outside each day. We are asking the Day Camp kids to bring their own lunch.
Will my child need a water bottle?
Yes, every child needs to bring a water bottle with them to camp. They will need to take it home with them each day and bring it back the next day. Water filling stations will be available to fill water bottles if your child needs a refill while they are onsite.
Will there be a VBS & Day Camp Celebration?
We will close the week with singing on the front steps and a treat to take home.
How can I volunteer?
Volunteer applications are now closed.
Note: Some companies will match some or all of your volunteer time with a financial donation, usually based upon your reported volunteer hours - contact your employer.
Is there a childcare option that extends the day on campus?
At this time, we are unable to provide additional hours for childcare.
